Beauty never came close to consideration during this year’s Miss Uganda farming, eerrm sorry, beauty contest. Social media is awash with funny comments and insults hurled at the Miss Uganda Foundation, for crowning, Leah Kalanguka, a third year student at Makerere University pursuing a bachelors degree in Software Engineering. Humans on social media think Kalanguka “does not look good” and should never have been in the top 10 contestants.
They are wrong! Kalanguka was brilliant during the Q&A session. She was confident and answered every tough question about agriculture that the panel of judges asked her; after all, the theme was “Promoting Agricultural Entrepreneurship Among the Youth”
As Miss Uganda 2014/2-2015, Kalanguka won herself a brand new car, and shs1 million monthly salary payable quarterly.
Brenda Iriama closed in in the second place (first runner up) whereas Yasmin Taban from Cavendish University emerged second runner up.
