Makerere University students have petitioned the leader of Opposition Honorable Mathias Mpuuga to intervene in the Makerere political crisis.
The students who were led by Alionzi Lawrence Dangote, the NUP flag bearer, petitioned Mr Mathias Mpuuga on August 9th, 2022.
The students who feel aggrieved want the leader of opposition to bail them out so they have students’ leadership.
Honorable Mpuuga promised to add his weight in order to find an amicable solution to the students’ plea, adding that a university cannot be run like a kindergarten.
“Received a petition from Makerere University students challenging the recent action by the university’s administration outlawing students’ leadership. This is unacceptable, we believe that a university should not be run like a kindergarten.” He said in a tweet.
Makerere University council recently banned all students’ leadership and elections.
