Makerere University Moot Society has been crowned champions of the 8th Annual National Inter University Constitutional Law Moot Court Competition.
The competition was organised by the Center for Health, Human Rights and Development (CEHURD), a non-profit, research and advocacy organization which that pioneers the justiciability of the right to health.
Makerere Moot society was represented by Sabiti Edwin and Kevin Nakimbugwe who were impressive enough in the finals to knock out UCU. Ms Kevin Nakimbugwe was as well named the best oralist in the competition.
The winning team took to Twitter to express their happiness;
“This year’s performance was excellent & the theme stands out. I appreciate CEHURD for introducing & being champions on the right to health, because it helps law students to be natured in decision making on such issues,” the adjudicators remarked.
Other Universities that participated included Cavendish University, Nkumba University, Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU), IUEA, Bishop Stuart University and others.
