Makerere’s Pastor Ssempa Blasts Bobi Wine For Supporting Homosexuality

Pastor Martin Ssempa of the defunct Makerere Community Church claims that Bobi Wine has left him alone in the struggle against homosexuality.

Ssempa said in an interview that it is saddening that Bobi Wine has succumbed to pressure from foreign elements and abandoned the struggle.

In the video (attached herein), Ssempa says Bobi Wine approached him in 2014 when UK was threatening to ban him because of his seemingly homophobic statements. He says he told him to stick to the cause, but sadly he has given up on the fight.

Ssempa also revealed that they froze his fundings in the UK because he doesn’t support homosexuality.

Ssempa’s comment follows the lifting of Bobi’s ban from traveling to the UK after about 10 years. Bobi returned to the UK last month after a decade.

The popstar had been banned following homophobic statements and his Burn dem song that castigated supporters of homosexuality. In the song, Bobi says he doesn’t care if he is banned from the UK because he was born in Africa and will make his money in Africa.

In an interview on BBC last week, Bobi Wine was asked to comment about the song and he said, ‘We grow and transform’. He said he has had a second thought about sodomy and would want to include a strategy for homosexuals.

“I have had second thoughts about sodomy. I want to include them (Homosexuals) in my strategy for Uganda. The anti sodomy law was made to target me and opposition. My People Power MPs who voted for the anti sodomy law in Parliament are really working for Museveni,”he said.

Ssempa has now called out Bobi Wine not to betray the African core values because they are beyond political differences.

“Brother Kyagulanyi please don’t betray our African Family core values which are beyond the differences of political parties. You are trying to please the white Europeans but you are alienating the Africans. You must REPENT and APOLOGIZE to God and all of Africa! This is Betrayal,”he said.
