Makerere University National Unity Platform (NUP) chapter has selected a new interim executive ahead of the forthcoming guild race
The new interim executive was released by the NUP head of institutions, Musiri David.
The sixteen member-interim executive was subjected to a vetting process through which they proved to be more competent than the rest.
According to Musiri David, as stipulated in the letter calling for application for the executive, the committee will organize party primaries.
Through the primaries, the flag bearer will be elected. Two candidates have so far expressed outstanding interest in the NUP flag and these are; Mwesigwa Calvin, the 87th guild health minister and the former minister of justice and student activist, Bbosa Price.
Makerere University is headed for the 88th guild race and the electoral commission – which was elected last week, is yet to release an election roadmap.
