National Unity Platform (NUP) and Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) supporters clashed on Thursday July 14th, 2022.
The two camps that met at Makerere University rugby grounds ended up in a fight as either supporters threw and hit one another with logs.
During the scuffle, a number of students sustained injuries and are currently admitted at the university hospital.
Unfortunately, one student who was confirmed to be a second year law student at UCU Kampala campus lost his life to the scuffle.

The latest report indicates that the guild elections have been suspended by the university council.
All guild aspirants were expected to present their manifestos at the final rally of the 88th guild campaigns on Thursday July 14th, 2022.
However, following the scuffle between NUP and FDC supporters, the rally wasn’t a success.
Police is currently investigating the root cause of the chaotic scenes that claimed a life and left many wounded.
Reports indicate that at least three individuals have been arrested to aid in the investigation.
Police is yet to issue a statement in regards to the regrettable event.
