The Makerere University Academic Affairs Minister for the 83rd guild cabinet, Wanyera Simon commonly known as the revolutionary son was on today Monday, August 27th spotted rubbing shoulders with Dr Stella Nyanzi in a free Bobi Wine protest ahead of the Kyadondo East MP’s bail application.
Together with his colleagues, the former Bachelors of Education Makerere student was seen holding placards reading “Bail is a constitutional right” as they eagerly waited for Bobi and his 33 other arrested colleagues to be released.
Despite the fact that he’s done with books, the 5 years Wanyera spent at the Wandegeya –based University placed him as a young political activist whose absence would hinder the success of the university’s protest/strike.
The 14 member team was headed by former Makerere University researcher Dr Stella Nyanzi who camped outside High Court, Gulu as the bail hearing of over 34 people accused of treason went down. Among the accused include; Hon. Kyagulanyi Robert (Bobi Wine), Hon. Gerald Karuhanga. Hon. Zaake Francis. Arua MP-elect Kassiano Wadri, former MP Mike Mabikke among others.
“A team of fourteen peaceful protesters have arrived at Gulu to stand in solidarity with the Arua-34 detainees charged with treason, including Members of Parliament. Their bail application is today at the High Court that is sitting today in Gulu town. Bail is a constitutional right”, Stella Nyanzi posted on her Facebook page earlier on.
