Dr John Chrysestom Muyingo, the State
“Remember knowledge is power. Graduation is a moment to reflect on what you have achieved. Add value to what you have, marry early. Be business-minded. Gone are the days when doctors could depend on only a salary,” Dr Muyingo said.
Muyingo also tipped the graduates to be creative by coming up with business ideas that supplement their income. “Be creative. It doesn’t matter what you have studied. What matters is what you are going to do with this skill you have. There are failures in every profession,” he added.
Before he applauded the university for its contribution in the delivery of quality education, Muyingo called upon the graduates to be disciplined as he warned them against drinking alcohol.
“But there are also successful people in almost every profession. Don’t drink alcohol. All you need is to be disciplined,” Muyingo advised.
Speaking of education, among the best graduands included Alexandria Nalwanga, who was recognised as the best Nursing student with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.93. Hellen Titin, a Bachelor of Science Midwifery student and Hannat Bukirwa, Diploma in General Nursing programme all scored a CGPA of 4.78.
