Police at Makerere University over the weekend arrested Edward Kalule after he invaded Mary Stuart Hall of residence lavatories and tried to rape a second year female student, whose identity has been concealed.
According to sources, Kalule hid in the showers for over 30minutes as he waited for most girls to finish their daily early morning showering routine. “He timed when she was left alone in the showers and ceased the moment to try to forcefully torment this girl’s apple. Fortunately, lady luck was not on his side as he was apprehended by the Lumumba boys who rushed to rescue the student who was screaming; rapist! rapist! rapist! rapist!” a source in Mary Stuart told Campusbee.
Below is a statement filed by the victim at Makerere Police Post;
It was around 10am, I went to lavatories to bathe and brush, as I was brushing, a man entered the toilet and I didn’t mind. I later entered the bathroom but saw the man peeping on top of the toilet to the bathroom; I became suspicious and immediately picked my towel up. Before I even covered myself, the man had bumped in the bathroom. He told me to remove the towel and we discuss. He threatened to kill until I could hold it, I made an alarm and many girls jumped off from their rooms, he rushed out and our neighbors in Lumumba had already come up. They held him and took him to police.”
