Daniel Kihumuro a clinical officer by profession has dragged Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) to court seeking as to why his name was omitted from the admission list.
According to Kihumuro, he was shortlisted to sit for the bachelor of medicine and surgery pre-entry examinations. He asserts that on 18th October 2021 he was admitted after passing pre-entry examinations but the institution neglected to give him the admission letter.
“The respondents published a new list of pre-entry exams and the applicant’s name and reg number was not on the new published list,’’ reads the court documents
Through his lawyers of Mulindwa and Company advocates, Kihumuro says the academic registrar sent him an email requesting him to send all his academic documents, transcripts, UACE and UCE certificates which he sent.
“After that I was shortlisted for a written interview by the academic registrar where I was requested to sit for a pre-entry exam which constituted four subjects on September 18th 2021 at Mbarara university town campus,’’ he clarified.
Kihumuro further narrates that on October 18th 2021, he received an email attached with a list of list of successful applicants where he appeared as number four out of seven successful candidates.
On 27th October 2021, He was sent another email of regret from the institution citing an abnormally in the results that of all the exams that were done and withdrew the earlier published list.
