News reaching Campus Bee indicate that Belinda Birungi, a fresh UCU graduate who was killed by a trailer on Friday night at Stretcher Ntinda had secured admission at the prestigious University of Massachusetts in the United States.
The Lands Minister Sam Mayanja’s daughter was set to pursue her masters at the said university having graduated three months ago from UCU Mukono with a bachelors in computer graphics.
Friends of the deceased Birungi say she was coming from Muyenga where she had gone celebrate her milestone with close friends. It is said that the trailer failed to climb the Ntinda stretcher hill prompting it to reverse and ramming into cars and the safeboda bike she was on.
The safeboda rider died on the spot whereas Belinda succumbed to injuries at China-Uganda Frienship Hospital in Naguru.
Birungi had also just landed a job with NC Bank and was to begin work this coming Wednesday having picked her appointment letter days earlier.
She will be buried on Monday in Bukumula village in Mityana district. This will be preceded by a vigil and church service that will be held at her parents’ Ntinda home on Sunday.
