Ministry of education has proposed a budget of 97.6 billion to re-open institutions of learning which have been closed since the outbreak of the global coronavirus.
This comes after the ministry of education and Health Ministry submitted the readiness report to the President of Uganda, H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to make a final decision on when to open or declare a dead year.
The money, requested by the Ministry, is going to be used to build additional classrooms, latrines, procurement of additional desks, and human resource to ensure Standard Operations Procedures (SOPs) in line with the Ministry of Health.
The money is will support all educational institutions, both private, and public at all levels of requirements under SOPs
