Acclaimed events promoter Alphonse Mukasa aka Bajjo, is set to take center stage as a student representative at an upcoming symposium at Makerere University Business School (MUBS) Nakawa.
The event, scheduled for October 23rd, 2024, will focus on the impact of competence-based degree programs on socio-economic transformation, with a special case study of the Bachelor of Leisure Events and Hotel Management (BLEHM) program.
The event will feature prominent guests, including Uganda’s Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja as the chief guest, and Balaam Barugahara, Minister of State for Youth and Children Affairs, as the keynote speaker.
The dialogue will also be hosted by Prof. Isaac Mubarak Ngobya, Chairman of the MUBS Council, alongside esteemed faculty members such as Prof. Moses Muhwezi, Principal of MUBS, and Assoc. Prof. Samson Omudu Otengei, Head of Leisure Events and Hotel Management.
Bajjo’s academic journey has drawn significant attention since he re-enrolled for a degree after a 15-year break from education.
In August 2024, he began pursuing a Bachelor’s in Leisure and Hotel Management at MUBS, eager to enhance his expertise in the events industry.
As a student representative of BLEHM, Bajjo will likely reflect on how the program is designed to foster practical skills and knowledge that align with the dynamic hospitality and events industry.
