The Management of Makerere University Business School (MUBS) has released detailed guidelines for new students seeking to change their programme or campus for the academic year 2024/2025. This announcement is crucial for students who wish to switch courses or campuses to better align with their career goals and personal preferences.
Procedure for Changing Course or Campus
The university has outlined a step-by-step process to ensure a smooth transition for students. Below are the instructions:
Step 1: Access the Student Portal
Students must log into their student portal via this link: http://myportal.mak.ac.ug.
Step 2: Login Credentials
Students should use their student number as both the username and password. For example:
- Username: 240058947
- Password: 240058947
Step 3: Navigate to Services
Once logged in, students should click on the “Services” link.
Step 4: Apply for Services
Next, click on “Apply for Services”.
Step 5: Application for Change
Click on “APPLY FOR CHANGE OF PROGRAMME/CAMPUS”. It’s important to refer to the programme codes to distinguish programmes offered at different campuses.
Step 6: Complete the Change Form
In the change of programme form, students must select their current programme, the new programme they wish to apply for, study time, campus, academic year, and optionally, the reason for changing. After completing the form, click on “Submit application”.
Step 7: Payment Process
To finalize the application, students need to generate a Payment Reference Number (PRN) for the change of programme/campus fee. This can be done on the pending application history interface by clicking “Generate payment reference”. The generated PRN should then be used to make a payment of Shs 6,000 plus the bank charge.
Important Dates
The system for changing courses or campuses is open from Saturday, August 03, 2024, to Friday, August 09, 2024. Students are urged to adhere to these dates to avoid missing the opportunity to make their desired changes.
