According to him, he thinks he started painting while still in his mothers womb. It’s a gift, he recalls, that didn’t need tutors from Harvard University. As soon as he saw a pencil and started to draw in his nursery he did not stop until this second.
All through high school at St.Marys College Kisubi to University, Ainembabazi has kept the dream of having his own art gallery showcasing his artworks, alive.
WHAT HE SAYS
What has made Art a possible venture for me is talent and behind this talent is lots of hardwork, practice for long days and nights.
I always felt the urge to create works of art out of my own talent, works of art that defined the value of something that day to day people were born with and regardless of the amount of time they spent building it, they would always be rest assured of making it in life, not for the money, not for fame but for the desire to fulfill what they loved to do.
The reason as to why so many talents die out along the way is because the people that possess these talents do not want success as much as they want to use the fruits of the success. They just kind of want this success.
The reason why other talents prosper is because the people that possess these talents try as much as possible to bring out the champion in them, to hit their peak, and just when they think what they have come up with is the best, what they come up with after proves to be better than the previous result.
To continuously produce what is better than the best is exactly what I refer to as the natural inborn ability that can never be exhausted or used up. This is why everytime I sit behind a piece of canvas, it’s a whole new thing.
Have reason to wake up everyday to do what you love to do; what a man can be, he must be.
Besides art, Ainembabazi is also passionate about fashion, rugby and fitness.
Asked about how he feels about winning the trip, Ainembabazi said: “My intentions towards this trip are quite brief and clear, minus touring and meeting high-profile individuals, I’m very excited and eager to gather information for my fellow creatives back at home, young and old on how we can create an African Art campaign whose impact in the creative industry should be globally felt, so we can sell as much as the rest of the international creatives are selling.”
