Through their newly elected Guild President Robinson Ogwang, students from Makerere University Business School – MUBS have informed the University Principal Prof. Wasswa Balunywa that they are not satisfied with their recenly released examination results.
According to Ogwang’s a statement that was addressed to the Principal, results are being released without coursework one or two for almost all faculties and course units. The students leader also noted that some students are capable of performing better than what they received.
“Students are already reaching the end of the semester without receiving results for their previous semester a case in point the Business Law for BOIMI marks yet they not supposed to do Business Law two without passing Business Law one and they have paid tuition already and living in uncertainties.” Ogwang noted.
According to Ogwang, students have backlogs and they are not sure how they came up because the results are not displaying anything that they can understand. Some students, who have been told that their results will be updated have also cried out over the long lasting missing marks.
MUBS lecturers, who are reportedly on strike have told students to teach themselves. The students are wondering who has been lecturing them for the past months ever since the university reopened if lecturers have been on strike.
“Lecturers are telling us to teach ourselves on top of paying tuition. They are covering something less that doesn’t even cover half of the course outline. Some lecturers are actually having poor data connection and we cant hear them out,” Ogwang wrote.
The students have further tasked the administration to display the results clearly indicating course work one and two as well as the final marks. They have further suggested that courses to do with calculations should be taught physically on campus, among other requests.
