In tan attempt to abide by the current online education and SOPs, Makerere University opted for online studies for continuing students to provide continuity in various academic programs attached to the Alma mata.
This came after the president ordered for the resumption of classes for candidate classes and advised institutions to cope up with online studies as a way to minimize the spread of the harzadous COVID-19 pandemic.
Student affiliates to the institution however, claim that the MUELE platform has left them in dire distress due to the failure of the system to accept their logins.
“When we put our logins, the platform accepts after a week which has left us stranded” Emmanuel Tumusiime, a student complained.
The students complain that they’re worried because come 1st December they’re expected to sit for examinations without fail.
“When we complain to the lecturers, we are refered to the administration and the tossing around continues. I won’t even address the huge amounts of data that we burn trying to access the classes.” Tumusiime further complained.
