President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has this evening, during his address to the nation, directed all schools to reopen for candidates and final year students.
Schools were closed on March 18th 2020 to curtail the spread of COVID-19 among over 15 million learners.
Museveni revealed that the final year students would report starting October 15th.
He said: “We have decided to reopen schools for the candidates including P7, S4, S6 and finalists in universities and tertiary universities. We believe that the number of these is small.”
Students of other classes have been told that they’ll report back to school next year.
