As several religious leaders continue to donate towards the fight against Coronavirus aka COVID-19, Pastor Martin Ssempa of Makerere Community Church has come out to confess that he will not donate 100 Million like Pastor Bujjingo.
According to Ssempa, his Makerere University followers give a very little offertory compared to Bujjingo’s and therefore no one should pressurize him to give what he doesn’t have.
While appearing of NBS’ Uncut show on Tuesday evening, Ssempa revealed that he will donate cassava and bananas (bogoya) harvested from his garden and he will personally hand it over to the National Task Force currently authorized to collect donations towards the fight against COVID-19.
“Yes Bujjingo donated 100 million but I do not have it. How can I give something I don’t have? My followers are university students, do you know how much they give as offertory?” Ssempa asked.
The ever-fresh Pastor also laughed at religious leaders who pose for photos and videos to be showcased in media while handing over their contributions. It should be recalled that Pastor Bujjingo donated UGX 100 Million and he was captured by top media houses in Uganda.
Ssempa also laughed at fellow stylish religious leader Prophet Mbonye for claiming that he knew about Coronavirus last year but he kept it for himself. According to Ssempa, Mbonye should stop all the pretense and guide his followers on how to stay away from this deadly disease.
Ssempa is currently staying at his village home where he claims to be with no electricity and no water supplied by National Water and Sewerage Cooperation. Ssempa is now eating organic food harvested from his garden as well as sipping rain water.
