The faculty of science and technology and the Engineering Department at Ndejje University, Kampala is embarking on creation of automated gadgets such as humanoid robots, surveillance system robots and building management systems that according to Mr. Rogers Ssendawula a researcher at the University are aimed at transforming society to cope with the modern and changing world.
During an exhibition of the already made dummy versions of the real project, Mr. Ssendawula added that these robots are part of their contribution as the University to the vision 2040 besides a lot of other future projects. He added that these robots would help in the day to day activities not only at home but in industries, security companies plus many more areas of human interest.
According to Prof. Eriabu Lugujjo, the vice-chancellor, the University has signed a memorandum of association with the University of Piraeus in Greece, a move that he says will see an exchange programme of both students and lecturers commence very soon between the two Universities.
