The much awaited for Aviation University aimed at boosting air transport and international trade has been opened in Entebbe. The Entebbe International University (EIU) is to focus on improving the countries human resource in a bid to improve international relations.
Incorporated in November 2010, the University was only granted an Interim Letter of Authority by the Uganda National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) in May of 2013. It’s only until March 2016 that the university was inspected by the council for the grant of an operating License.
EIU’s Chancellor is the Vice President Kiwanuka Edward Ssekandi and the Chairman Board of Trustees is Lt. Gen Ivan Koreta.
Speaking at the institution’s first Conference of Partners held at the Imperial Royale hotel in Kampala recently, Lt Gen Ivan Koreta said that “the university seeks to close the existing unemployment gap through moving in line with its vision of becoming the national and international centre of excellence in strategic and technological studies.”
