NKUMBA: Ms Moreen Nabatanzi the second runner up to the just concluded
guild elections has petitioned against Mrs. Kemirembe Ronah who was
announced as the new guild president of Nkumba University.
The petitioner Moreen feels Kemirembe shouldn’t be president since she
didn’t make the mandatory 50% as is required by the guild constitution
for one to be president.
Kemirembe got 275 of the total votes which is about 31% after the
students voting that took place on Saturday at the University beating
off competition from seven other aspirants.
Kemirembe who was over the moon after winning the elections now faces
the possibility of a re-run with 2nd runner up Moreen for the guild
presidency.
The elections that were lowly attended by students with only 871 voting could now be re cast.
