Uganda Christian University’s new Vice Chancellor, Professor Aaron Mushengyezi has vowed to reduce the current tuition structures in the University by starting up different projects that will generate income for this University hence reducing the financial pressure imposed on students.
“I will make sure we invest in projects that will fetch more income so that the university does not depend entirely on tuition,” he said in a press briefing on Saturday.
According to the Vice Chancellor, Uganda Christian University has about 800 staff and they have the room to raise over 1 billion UGX every year to start up different undertakings that benefit the entire UCU community.
“I am going to construct a mall with in the university to generate income for our university than relying on tuition,” he added. He emphasized that this year is the time to use every opportunity to generate income than hiking tuition every now and then.
Prof Mushengyezi also went ahead to note that he will start a campaign that brings all churches nation wide to support different money creation causes such as research and book scripting to generate and accumulate as much money as possible.
This comes a month after Prof Mushengyezi he was instated as the Uganda Christian University Vice Chancellor.
