Word from Makerere University indicates that Sheemah Jackson Mayambala, the newly appointed Academic Affairs Minister has already started executing duties related to his job.
In his first statement after being appointed by Kateregga Julius, the Makerere University Guild President, Mayambala revealed that he is currently following up a case why some students were blocked from sitting for their exams.
“This is to inform you that it has been brought to my notice that there are students who have been blocked from accessing the examination rooms due to admission errors. We are closely following up on the matter to it’s conclusive end.” Mayambala wrote.
Mayambala’s appointment was a replacement to Ahmed Abdirahman who recently resigned as the university’s Academic Affairs Minister over Kateregga’s alleged unethical conduct.
The poor Abdirahman also resigned to stand in solidarity with Mayambala and Obbo Johnson Emmanuel who were earlier fired by the 85th guild leader.
By the look of things, Mayambala doesn’t care about his colleague Abdirahman’s resignation or whether he was appointed and later “disappointed” by Kateregga.
