A 22-year-old resident of Ntinda, a Kampala suburb, only identified as Kairu is demanding for shs20m after helping Abdul, a boda boda rider with his smartphone and data (of about 50Mbs) to place a bet on Sunday.
Apparently, Abdul used Kairu’s 50Mbs data to place a bet on online gaming site Betin….His receipt had a stunning 20 games. Abdul staked shs5,000 and went ahead to win a staggering shs400m.
Later that night, Abdul realised he’d won the bet and called all his peers bragging about how he’s now even richer than Sudhir.
We are told the boda boda rider cum ‘millionaire’, assured of a shs400m jackpot the next day, threw away his bike, and checked into Jicca hotel, Ntinda on Sunday night after ticking all his ‘sure wins’.
“He was escorted by police to pick up his payment on Monday morning…the Ntinda police post uniformed officers guarded Abdul’s hotel residence all day long as he moved to hire the whole floor for himself. He ordered masseuse for a full blown spa,” one of Abdul’s former stagemates told this writer.
He also adds that Abdul hired the whole hotel floor citing threats on his life from many of his peers.
Kairu furious
Kairu is really furious as Abdul didn’t even call him after winning this whooping amount of money…and instead is going around splashing it on whoever crosses his path. “I am demanding at least shs20m for the help I rendered because if it wasn’t for my smartphone and data, Abdul wouldn’t be a millionaire,” the enraged Abdul told a crowded on Monday afternoon.
