Kyambogo University Finally Ready For 15th Graduation Ceremony
The Academic Registrar of Kyambogo University, Dr. Ann Begumisa released the final Graduation lists on Friday, 7th December to disapprove all mediaclaims and rumors that the University wasn’t ready to hold the 15th Graduation Ceremony.
There was an earlier claim that Research Marks had not been uploaded and attached for some students to the final compilation of results. It was also alleged by unconfirmed sources that there was a results scandal where some officials were being bribed to alter marks so as to allow students to illicitly graduate.
However, the Minister of Information and Transportation at Kyambogo University, Hon. Aribarema Rodgers has confirmed that the delay in attachment of marks was due to an alteration in the terms of research supervision by the University supreme body. He also confirmed that all the barriers to graduation including remuneration of lecturers have been dealt with hence leaving no excuse whatsoever but to hold the ceremony this week.
According to tentative statistics, over 7000 students are set to graduate from Kyambogo University with Diplomas, Degrees and Certificates. Close to 211 are to be awarded First Class Degrees in various disciplines.
The Graduation ceremony will be held on different dates due to the humongous numbers. School of Management and Entrepreneurship, Faculty of Special Needs and Rehabilitation and Graduate School students will be awarded on Wednesday,12th December.
Thursday, 13th of December has been reserved for graduates from the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Vocational Studies. The final batch of graduates will be passed out from the Faculty of Education, Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Science on Friday 14th December.
Graduates have been advised to acquire graduation gowns in time from service providers opposite the East End pitch where the Graduation Ceremony will take place
