Yesterday, a total of nine candidates all interested in the Kyambogo University guild office were nominated to take part in the forthcoming guild elections.
According to the chairperson Kyambogo University Electoral Commission, Asiimwe Robert, for one to be successfully nominated he/she had to fully pay tuition with proof, possess a testimonial showing his latest academic having no retake, admission letter plus payment of 600,000 Ugandan shillings as nomination fees.
The following candidates managed to fulfill the requirements and they were fully nominated to take part in the forthcoming guild race.
Below is the list of candidates;
Akena Eddy, pursuing mechanical engineering, in his year 3, Ssemuju Joel, pursuing management science in his year 2, Amanya German doing accounting and finance in year 2, Opesen Paul offering bachelor of education in year 2, Mugisha Richard doing vocational studies, Okot Fredrick from arts and social sciences year 2, Lubanga Nasif doing environmental science and technology, Kirenzi Haruna doing arts in economics, year 2 and Muhumuza Abram, offering social justice.
Today, the Guild Representative Councilors (GRCs) are being nominated too and open campaigns are expected to kick off on Thursday followed by the open guild presidential debate all in preparations of the forth coming guild elections to be held on the 6th March 2018.
