“We expect you to demonstrate the skills, the attitudes that will make you different and also act as a catalyst to attract more of your colleagues to come and upgrade. Out there, where you are heading now, there is this big scare, this monster of job scarcity, please do not despair. All you need is to remain focused keep trying and do not undermine any opportunity that comes your way.” Mpezamihigo told graduates who walked away with their certificates and academic transcripts that day.
Present at the function was the KIU Chairman Board of Trustees Hassan Basajjabalaba who applauded the state for providing a conducive environment for education after unveiling his fully recovered mother to the public.
In his speech at the ceremony, the Guest of Honor Hon. Elioda Tumwesigye urged the graduands to avoid alcohol and drugs as well as practicing safe sex.
“HIV is still around, its killing people and in case you have it don’t panic, go and take medicines, you keep strong, work and live. For sure don’t make your life useless after getting a degree. Also please do not take alcohol, if you take a sip do not become alcoholic.” Tumwesigye told graduands last Saturday.
