Police have opened a case of public nuisance against the woman who undressed in front of the crowd at Makerere University’s freshers ball on Saturday, October 31.

Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson SP Racheal Kawala said the woman has been taken to Butabika National Referral Hospital for further assessment while investigations continue.

Kawala said the matter would be investigated to its logical conclusion. She also urged first-year students to party responsibly.

Makerere said on Tuesday that the woman is a former student of the university, not a current one. It has started a review of security and event management at university-sanctioned social events, and backed her family’s appeal to the public to stop sharing the video and pictures of the incident.
