Renown academician and administrator Prof William Bazeyo is captaining the search committee to select the next Deputy Vice Chancellor (Finance and Administration) at Busitema University.
The university conducted public presentations from candidates for the named position that has been vacant for a while.
These included; Dr Lugya Fredrick Kiwuwa (University Librarian, Busitema University), Dr Namanya David (College of Business & Management Sciences, Makerere University), Professor Kituyi Mayoka (From MUBS), Associate Professor Edward Andama (Former Dean, Faculty of Science and Education, Busitema University), Associate Professor Saphina Biira (Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor F & A, Busitema University), Associate Professor Samson Rwahwire (Director- Directorate of Graduate Studies Research and Innovations, Busitema University).
As a public university, the institution has to undergo a formidable search process that is overseen by revered experts entrusted to get the best out of the best.
Prof Bazeyo is accompanied by other members on the committee like Mr Gideon Obbo Ologe – Council Rep, Assoc Prof Anabella Habinka – Senate Rep, Prof Maria Musoke- Senate Rep and Prof Julius Wandabwa – Senate Rep.
With the presentation going on successfully today, September 22, 2023, sooner than later, Busitema University stakeholders will be in position to know the next Deputy Vice Chancellor (F&A).
Prof is an outstanding figure in the academics arena as a physician, public health specialist, academic, researcher, and academic administrator. From September 2017 until October 2020, he served in a similar role at Makerere University.
