Controversial news reaching our desk indicate that Akena Eddy, the current Kyambogo university National Resistance Movement (NRM) flag bearer in the ongoing guild presidential race of Kyambogo University was a staunch Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Kyambogo chapter member and delegate .
This website bumped into a few Kyambogo university students and political enthusiasts wondering why a staunch FDC member and delegate decided to cross over to NRM and how he managed to emerge as a sole candidate in the party.
Sources inside the Kyambogo university FDC chapter have intimated to this website that a few weeks into the this semester, Akena now the NRM flag bearer in the Kyambogo guild race contacted the FDC officials saying he was quitting the chapter.
The reason Akena gave is that he was no longer interested in the party saying he was simply influenced to join the party but it was against his will.It is at that point that the FDC Kyambogo chapter decided to revoke Akena’s membership and let him go.
This website managed to reach out to the Kishemeirwe Patricia , the former Kyambogo university NRM party President and she told us she was not aware Akena was in FDC and all she knew is that Akena is a staunch NRM person.
“I was not aware of those allegations that Akena was an FDC member all I know he belongs to our party and that’s all that matters his history doesn’t matter,” she said.
Efforts to reach out to Akena to have a say about this whole controversy were futile but Campus Bee will keep you posted.
