Next Media’s NBS TV is likely to be dealt a major blow of losing its promising talent. They are likely going to lose Canary Mugume, a news reporter who has been reporting on Morning Breeze and news bulletins, to their rivals, NTV Uganda.
According to a well placed source at the Kamwokya based NBS TV, Mugume has been promised a ‘fat pay’ on top of both reporting and anchoring news at NTV unlike on NBS where he only does reporting.
“He has been promised a huge salary and he will be anchoring too unlike here where he only does the reporting,” a source who preferred to remain anonymous told Campus Bee.
Mugume who also doubles as a student at the International University of East Africa. He, however, remained tight lipped about the matter when contacted by our reporter.
If the rumor is anything to go by, he will be starting his duties at NTV as early as January 2018. Mugume joined NBS officially on 11th December 2016.
He has for the last ten months excelled in covering politics and current affairs including live reporting, intense interviews with the IGP Kale Kayihura and his subordinates, elections including Rwanda and the Kyadondo by-elections among others.
He has previously worked for Channel 44 and is a contributor to the weekly 94.4 KFM Hot seat. Mugume started his television presenting journey way back in 2015 with a youths program on Channel 44 before officially joining Media Plaza, last year.
Whether the rumor is true or not. Only time will tell.
