Lillian Apio, 23 from Kole district will sadly not live to see her 24th birthday let alone her graduation which was slated for early January, as she perished in a nasty road accident on Friday afternoon.
According to reports, Apio was going to attend a burial of her friend’s mother who succumbed to cancer at Mulago Cancer Institute when the driver of Toyota corolla registration number UAD 812, which she was traveling in, lost control as he was trying to save a cyclist by the road side, sending the car into a myriad of uncontrolled rolling.
Apio and the driver were both rushed to Agwata Health Centre III for a first aid before being granted a transfer to Lira Regional Referral Hospital where she sadly passed on a few hours later.
Additional reports also indicate how Apion was due to have her cultural introduction ceremony later next month, November.
The accident happened on Friday afternoon along the Lira-Soroti highway in Dokolo, and Lillians body is still in the Lira referral hospital mortuary, awaiting postmortem.
May her soul rest in Eternal Peace.
