The notorious thief who has been terrorising Uganda Christian University and its outskirts has been unmasked.
Herbert Bahati Wanendeya a second year Procurement and Logistics student and current member of parliament, residents was over the weekend arrested, put under lock down at the university’s police station and charged with multiple theft and conspiracy to steal charges.
It’s noted that two innocent reverends were shown life in the real world when Herbert used his powers as the resident MP, fooled and stole their laptops valued at an estimated 2 million each piece.
He proceeded to practice his half-baked business class knowledge when he sold both laptops to a one Otieno a former entrepreneur and Project Management student at the same university at an iffy fee. Mr Otieno affirmed that indeed the laptops were sold each at 100,000 shillings to him by Herbert Wanendeya.
After kissing the cold hard floors of the police cell for some couple of nights, Herbert confessed to more crimes. Herbert confessed to conspiring in the plot that saw an international male student of Congolese descent been conned of 100 US dollars leaving this innocent boy to live by the mercy of his friends for the rest of the semester.
The student filed a complaint to the Dean of Student’s office where this acclaimed con man was summoned. Mr Herbert Bahati Wanendeya pleaded guilty to all cases against him albeit claimed insanity and invasion of the devil for an excuse.
MP Herbert is remembered as a prominent whistle bowler for current UCU Mukono guild president, Athur Baliruno’s “Vote To Shoot” slogan and was one of his favourites for his cabinet ministerial positions.
Herbert was also labelled in various corruption scandals. It’s alleged that during the vetting of the ministers, Herbert threatened the appointed ministers’ rejection by the vetting committee and promised them hope to serve in the cabinet only if they bribed the committee.
Member of Parliament, Bahati who doubles as a minister in the Baliruno government faces impeachment and expulsion from the university.
