A group of six Makerere University fresh graduates have reached out to the general public for financial help after they were admitted to Hunter College, New York to pursue Master’s studies.
According to a statement shared by the university Vice Chancellor Prof Barnabas Nawangwe, the six brilliant students need to raise USD 75000 in funding through their newly launched GoFundMe drive.
“This group of 6 young, intelligent and ambitious Ugandan students recently graduated from @Makerere and got admitted to Hunter College, New York to pursue Master’s studies. I invite you to help them raise USD 75000 in funding through this GoFundMe drive.” Nawangwe eeted.
More details indicate that the group, which graduated from Makerere University with Bachelor’s degrees in Economics urgently need help to enable them report to grad school by 1st of August 2021.
The program is aimed at training and mentoring talented minority students to prepare them for life changing opportunities like PhD programs in America’s prestigious institutions.
