As had been requested earlier by the Kyambogo University team during their donation under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. Eli Katunguka concerning the distribution of food to the surrounding communities of the institution. The government has responded positively, something that has left delight and jubilation upon the faces of the voluntary residents in the said region.
Our sources have revealed to the Hive that task force trucks and personnel have been sighted in the shanty areas of Kyambogo-Banda and are on their way down towards the outskirts of Kireka inside the Kinawataka slum that meimes the region.
Speaking to one of the would be beneficiaries of this project, Moses Akampulila, a Banda resident and hostel security guard, our reporter learnt that announcements for people to remain in their homes were already under way and that food would reach them in the next few hours.
Efforts to reach out to residents who already received the food despite having proven fruitless, confirmation has been made that indeed the food was received in good condition and as per the national task force set standard in quantity and quality as will be confirmed in the follow up article. The vulnerable persons continue to pass on their gratitude to the University and various donors who had aided them in these dire times.
