Grief has engulfed Soroti University following the death of Associate Prof. Dr. Thomas Aisu Ongodia on Tuesday morning.
This happened during a senate meeting.
According to Juma Hassan Nyene, the University’s spokesperson, Prof. Ongondia collapsed and died during a senate meeting.
“Prof. Thomas Aisu came to the University this morning driving himself. He rushed to attend a meeting that certainly kicked off at around 10:00am. He even contributed during the meeting. He later sat down and then all of the sudden he collapsed,” Nyene said.
The body of the deceased was handed over to Soroti Regional Referral Hospital yesterday ahead of preparations to transport it Mulago National Referral hospital for postmotem.
Prof. Ongodia was one of the newly appointed Health Science senior lecturers.
