Here’s a few lessons that everyone needs to pick from this experience; firstly, that no one should ever underestimate the power of social media and secondly that always choose your leaders wisely.
Uganda Christian University (UCU) students as of yesterday saw their cries for help answered as the Government and the Inter-Religious Council provided food relief to the student community. This relief included maize flour, cooking oil, beans, milk, sugar, soap and beans.
One must applaud the efforts of H.E. Timothy Kadaga the UCU Guild President together with Rt. Hon. Rebecca Kadaga who directed government to provide the relief and Esther Birungi, an activist who greatly advocated for this food relief on Social Media.
Receipt of this food relief was confirmed by H.E. Timothy Kadaga who in a Tweet stated that the Institution had received food relief from the state and they are looking for a more sustainable and permanent solution to the issue at hand.
We at Campus Bee wish to applaud all those involved in this move to save the starving students.
