A lot of university students are not contented with the criteria Power Fm used to crown winners of the their 60 secs dance competition that took place on Thursday night. Anchors Dance Crew won the much competitive dance competition that was dominated by university students. Vision with Hope (VWH) looked the night’s favourites but were beaten to their own game by the Anchors Dance Group (ADG). According to the judges, the crowd contributed to 60% of the votes and not 100%. However, the students seem to be in agreement with the dance competition organisers, Power Fm, criteria of choosing the winner. They [students] have gone as far as accusing the Christian radio station of being biased. Below are the responses of dissatisfaction from the students.
Marie Nakamya Gorreth: “You guys really #stood out for me coz Watoto organised and so you made Watoto ADG to win yet #Vision were the actual winners. There was no tie so you created a tie so as to manipulate the results .ADG guys we all know they are Watoto and some yo friends. Well they look good and fit to be in #THE TRUTH’S video coz they dance to hip pop well but they weren’t the winners they were supposed to be number 3. I am certain their (ADG) moves match with the music of DA TRUTH. One of Watoto values is Integrity but i dint see any integrity yesterday with your unfair results am not the only one disappointed but many were even yo fellow Watoto employees.”
Anying Bryan: “You didnt stand out today… Seriously VWH were clearly the best.. May be because u think ADG Can Represent better in the video but the truth be told u were biased.. May be Da’Truth needed to be around to tell us the truth.. But any way.. Let’s stand out at phatphest #standout.”
Jolly Edwin: “The whole world witnessed people witnessed that VISION WITH HOPE stood out but i think even where the judges are right know they are still guilty of their verdict but all in all vision with hope displayed class, strength technique style variety.Thumbs up. Judge Becky hmmmmmm.”
Daniel Opio: “The show was amazing. ADG deserved to win and they are the best dancers to represent Watoto on an international platform. people will always never be happy with the winners. The losers should show character. for crying out loud we are talking about representation on an international platform and no other dance could do it better than ADG. VWH dancing is based on local lingala style(Uganda) and not hiphop that suits the TRUTH and ADG can deliver it best#Nuffsaid.”
Power Fm is yet to come out to clarify the proper criteria that was used to determine the winners. ADG won shs1.5 million and will feature in the music video of the Da’ T.R.U.T.H, real names, Emanuel Lee Lambert, an award winning Christian rapper based in the US.
