Makerere Students Buy Coffin For Nawangwe, Brand it “Fees Must Fall”

Makerere University students are not about to stop the tuition demonstrations. The latest from the Ivory Tower shows students with a coffin branded with photos of the vice chancellor.

The photo, that was taken this morning also has pictures of Gordon Murangira, the Personal Assistant of the vice chancellor and Prof Hisali, the Principle of the College of Business and Management Sciences (CoBAMS).

The latter two are accused of escalating the situation at the Ivory Tower by using their positions to incite violence among students. Earlier today, the guild president Julius Kateregga accused the to on live television for violently crushing dissent at the university.

“Murangira has used the office of the vice chancellor to recklessly suspend students and intimidate them whenever they sought answers from management.” Kateregga said of the vice chancellor’s Personal Assistant.

 He also accused Prof Hisali for being the one responsible for the violent attacks on Lumumba Hall last week on Thursday, when the Military invaded them at night.
