Victoria University will begin building a new campus in Naguru, Kampala, this year, Vice Chancellor Dr Lawrence Muganga has announced.
Muganga shared three design impressions of the campus on X on Tuesday, October 6. The site is in Naguru, near Phaneroo Ministries International.
Anticipating that readers might doubt the polished images, he said they were genuine architectural designs and not AI creations.

“Yes, this is happening, and I am excited to share that work begins this year,” Muganga wrote. He added that the university cannot wait to see the designs become a campus students can walk into and call home.
What the designs show
The impressions show a cluster of multi-storey buildings in red brick and cream, with tall glass facades, set on a terraced hillside site.

The main entrance carries the Victoria University name under a canopy held up by V-shaped pillars, with an illuminated sign bearing the university crest in front of it. The grounds include landscaped gardens with palm trees and flower beds, seating areas, a fountain at the centre of the courtyard, outdoor café tables and surface parking. A gated entrance faces the road, and there appears to be basement parking with separate entry and exit points.

What we don’t know yet
Muganga did not say how much the project will cost, how long construction will take, how many students the campus will hold, or whether it will replace or add to the university’s current facilities.
