Sad news reaching our news desk, a one Noah Buyinza a Geography teacher at Dar-Es-Salaam Secondary School Matugga has died after setting himself ablaze in Wakiso. The late Buyinza is an Education graduate from Kyambogo University.
According to eye witnesses, Buyinza set himself on fire from his home and thereafter ran towards the road while trying to put off the fire. He was rushed to hospital but later succumbed to his wounds.
It is not yet established as to why Buyinza decided to end his life in such a terrifying activity. However, the late’s close friend Godfrey Mutekanga said that Buyinza could have ended his life because of financial hardships brought about by the COVID-19 lockdown.
“He called me last week and told me he had food at home but did not have charcoal. He wanted me to get him Shs 20,000 to buy charcoal. That was the last time we talked,” Mutekanga revealed.
By press time, Police had started investigations as it is waiting for postmortem results. May his Soul Rest in Peace.
