Friday, October 4th 2019 was the day for the Freshers Ball at Makerere University Business School (MUBS) and we have received the most traumatizing news from what was assumed to have been a fun engagement of university students as is usually expected to be.
A fresher (name withheld) was stripped naked by over five men at the fun fare and mercilessly raped to near blackout. From information we got from one of her course mates, the girl was raped by men/boys that they were not able to tell if they were students or other members of the public.
“We were lucky to have found her before it was too late. The men (5) stripped her naked and started raping her one by one at the Freshers Ball. By the time we found her she was bleeding profusely and we had to rush her to the hospital – that is where she is at the moment” her friend told Campus Bee.
Rapists, thieves and murderers are known to target events like these where they expect to find vulnerable members of universities especially freshers and take advantage of them and we caution students to always attend such parties with friends that never leave their sides because you can never know the character of people that will be surrounding you at a certain time.
