Film lovers across Uganda are set for a 10-day cinematic experience after the Uganda Communications Commission officially released the final screening schedule for the 2026 Uganda Film Festival (UFF).

The highly anticipated screenings will run from May 25 to June 4, 2026, showcasing some of Uganda’s top nominated productions from the 2025/2026 film season across major cinemas in Kampala and Entebbe.

The screenings will take place at Century Cinemax Acacia Mall, Century Cinemax Arena Mall, Century Cinemax Metroplex Mall, EMT Cinemas, and NuMax Cinemas.

According to UCC, the screenings will not only celebrate Uganda’s growing film industry but will also allow audiences to participate in selecting winners for the coveted Viewers’ Choice Award category.

Among the standout films scheduled for screening are Waka Waka, Maama Wange, Longing to Belong, Slum Bomber, Adui, You May Kiss the Bride Goodbye, Against All Odds, Blind Lover, Road to Success, and Weak End, among several others.

One of the major highlights of this year’s programme is the wide geographical cinema coverage, with simultaneous screenings taking place at multiple venues each evening between 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM.

Ticket prices have been maintained at UGX 15,000 for screenings at Century Cinemax branches and NuMax Cinemas, while moviegoers attending screenings at EMT Cinemas opposite Makerere University Main Gate will pay UGX 10,000.

The Uganda Film Festival has over the years evolved into one of the country’s biggest platforms for promoting local storytelling, filmmaking talent, and creative industry growth. The annual festival continues to provide filmmakers with exposure while encouraging Ugandans to support homegrown cinema.

UCC has encouraged the public to attend the screenings and support Uganda’s vibrant film sector by turning up in large numbers throughout the festival period.
