Institutions of Higher Education in Uganda have enormously evolved in the recent past to address prevailing concerns by equipping students with the right mix of skills.
Among these, UCU Bishop Barham University College, a constituency college of Uganda Christian University (UCU) cannot be ignored.
Situated in the corridors of Kabale, western region of Uganda, UCU Bishop Barham University College (BBUC) is well-known for upbringing students from all walks of life, irrespective of their origin, beliefs or ethnicity.
Commencing as a theological school way back in 1924, BBUC, has gradually turned out to be a university that any student that has had an opportunity to study from, is undoubtedly proud of.
With its roots engraved in the structures of Uganda Christian University, BBUC has enhanced its courses of study, ways of conduct and ultimate progress.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, graduation ceremonies for all UCU campuses of Arua, Kampala, Mbale and Kabale were held at the main campus in Mukono until December 2022 when BBUC held its own in South western Uganda.
This is attributed to the tremendous efforts of the management under the leadership of the current Principal, Dr Alice Jossy Kyobutungi Tumwesigye.
Reputable courses offered at the university include; Bachelors Degree in Journalism and Mass communication, Bachelors Degree in Education, Bachelors Degree in Theology, to say the least.
The institution’s stakeholders are optimistic about the future with more strategic opportunities, collaborations and innovations anticipated in this new year.
