Disturbing news reaching Campus Bee indicates; a Uganda Christian University (UCU) student was shot in the middle of the night, allegedly by a Counter Terrorism Police Personnel.
The student has been identified as Ms Natasha Nagayi, 21 while the suspect is identified as ASP Tebangole Dismass (No T/460), a 57-year-old resident of Nabuti in Mukono.
It is reported that the incident happened at about 1:00 AM on Satruday, when the the Tebangole noticed an unusual attempt of opening his door.
Engulfed with uncertainty, the suspect then shot live bullets through his window aimed at the person who tried to open his door only to realize it was Nagayi after bullets hit her lower arm, leaving her on the ground.
It is said that on the same night, Nagayi had been accompanied by her boyfriend (identified as Bandishe Ashiraf) for an outing thereafter granting her the key to his room which was adjacent to the suspect’s room.
Unsure of which room it was when she got to the residential compound, Nagayi attempted to open the suspect Tebangole’s room mistaking it for Bandishe’s. The shooting followed as a result.
The student is seeking serious medical attention at Kawolo Hospital.
This comes at the wake of gun-violence in the country.
