During the parliamentary session that was aimed at making proposals and adjustments in the Guild Budget for the new Academic Year, tensions kept on arising over proposals to remove guild trips.
The Guild Prime Minister, John Baptist Ouma suggested that the House should move a motion to do away with guild trips. Perhaps this is the reason this man is nicknamed the salvation of the common man.
However, some Parliamentarians passionately refused to agree to it and wanted to pluck out the man’s eyes. The Prime Minister in his speech said that the President decided to put aside the ten million shillings intended to facilitate the Presidential trips.
He advised that the money should be used to facilitate student related activities. However, the Guild Speaker, Allan Abenawe refuted the discussion alleging that it was not on the order paper and therefore could not be up for debate on the floor.
The Members of Parliament are still having contradicting reactions and ideas on this issue and here at Campus Bee, we promise to keep you posted with any unfoldings on it.
