The Vice Chancellor of Uganda Christian University (UCU) Prof. Aaron Mushengyezi has released a memo to the institution’s stakeholders regarding the next week’s poised reopening.
Prof Mushengyezi outlined the various guidelines concerning the phased in-person learning for the different years of study. He as well reminded the students that the arrangement does not entirely eliminate online studying.
“Please note that while in person learning is commencing, we will still have a blended learning approach at UCU, with both face-to-face and online classes. This is to ensure that we comply with COVID-19 Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs),” the VC noted.
In the same memo, Prof Mushengyezi guided the concerned parties on how and when different classes and examinations will be held. Here are some of the highlights;
- All Year One students admitted this Advent (September) Semester and have been studying online, will report for face-to-face classes on 1st November 2021. They will have additional orientation sessions during the week. They will then move to blended learning (in person and online classes) beginning 4th December 2021.
- Continuing students who have been studying virtually will report on 8th November 2021 for face-to-face classes in a phased manner. Their semester examinations will begin on 4th December 2021 and end on 17th December 2021.
- Examinations for new students admitted in Advent (September) 2021 Semester will be held from 3rd January 2022 to 17th January 2022.
- Faculty Deans and Heads of Department should prepare and issue timetables for teaching and examinations to all students in their Faculties.
