With the calls for charity, students were generous enough to give for a just cause. Lots of contributions were given as so many students bought the tickets to participate in the rotaract sports gala last weekend.
The D-day did not go as planned though as there was little activity at the venue.
The event started at 8:30 am with the Rotaract president (wearing the orange apron) cutting the ribbon to commence the 5 kilometer race.
A lot of activities were organized for the event including a concert for later in the evening, however, the disappointing participation of the students led to a number of modifications on the day’s programme.
The run was intended to have two routes however due to the unexpected occurrence, the organizers cancelled off the 10km race and the concert scheduled for the evening.
The rest of the sports activities for the day proceeded as scheduled equally with very few students seen taking part in some of the games.
