Yesterday a group of three UMEME inspection operatives was nearly thumped to pulp by an angry group of UCU students that had teamed up with a bunch of Bugujju villagers.
The group decided to protest against the power outages that have occurred for the last two weeks.
This ludicrous strike all started when three UMEME officers tried disconnecting one of the areas’ five star ‘mizigo’ (rental) only to be encompassed by a group of angry protestors armed with branches and saucepans.
It was all bellows and rattles between the UMEME operatives who tried accessing the muzigo’s meter box and the protestors who restricted the officers form reaching the meter box with the students doing the feeble pickle roar shouts while the strong masculine group of rowdy villagers cried them off their toes high up in the air.
One big bellied Mukiga officer tried playing heroe threatening he could call police but was only pounced on, awarding him with mega slaps that felt him cursing why the hell he was allocated to Mukono in all places.
Bugujju’s power shortages have left many students resorting to dobbi’s who poses charcoal ironing flats to do their laundry others flexing for socket ports while at campus so as to charge their tech gadgets.
